Doug Duggan

Hangar owner at 88R since summer of 2020. We purchased our hangar as a vacation getaway for our family of four to escape the hustle and bustle of the greater Houston area. We couldn’t be happier with our decision. The Spicewood Airport community is amazing! We have met so many wonderful people from all walks of life, but all share a common passion, aviation.

Although I am relatively new to the community, I want to immerse myself further by joining the Spicewood Airport Board. I have been a professional pilot since 1992. I graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a degree in Aviation Science and a degree in Aviation Business Administration. My career has predominately been focused on general and corporate
aviation and I have over 10,000 hours of flying in various types of planes. Currently, I’m flying a Gulfstream-150 for Quanta Services Incorporated in Houston.

During my career as a corporate pilot, I have held esteemed positions such as Safety Officer, Lead Pilot, Chief Pilot, Director of Operations, Travel Manager, and others. These experiences have afforded me the opportunities to work directly with organizations such as the FAA, National Business Aircraft Association, International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations, AOPA, Angel Flight, and others. Throughout my career, I have always collectively focused on
achieving objectives to the highest level of efficiency and safety.

It is my desire to use my experience and knowledge to contribute to the Spicewood community and I am asking you for your support.

Tom Nelson

I am hangar owner at Spicewood Airport and fly a Cessna 182. I hold a private pilot certificate. I have lived in the Bee Caves area since 1991, not too far away from the airport. I have been in ranching most of my life and I run my own construction business. I have really enjoyed fixing things up around the airport and I have the time nowadays to do it a bit more often.

I am at the airport enough that you may recognize me in a golf cart going from hangar to hangar chatting or helping people with their projects here and there. I truly enjoy the camaraderie here at the airport and plan to make it my home.

Wesley Perkins

Private Pilot

Aircraft: Lancair Legacy N550NL
Resident: Lakeway, TX

Education: Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Rice University

Business Background: Design Engineer Trane Air Conditioning, Owner and General Manager of Mechanical Contracting Companies in Houston and Waco. Wesley is an Accredited Professional in the Leadership of Energy and Environmental Design. Wesley has served on the SAPA Board of Directors for the past two years. He is also the past President of the Bella Montagna Estates Homeowner’s Association in Lakeway and has served on all board roles in his professional business career: Association of Energy Engineers, American Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers, American Society of Plumbing Engineers, Associated General Contractors, and the Air Conditioning Contractors of America.

As a Board member, Wesley can only be elected by B-Members. They are his primary focus. In the execution of his duties, however; Wesley finds that few things differentiate between how SAPA should serve B-Members vs
A-Members. All are here for the joy of aviation. A-Members have made additional investments into their hangers that they want to see appreciate. B-Members help make that happen by offsetting the cost of ownership and by providing funds to maintain the runway, taxiways, the fuel service station, and all common areas. The purpose of SAPA is to serve all its members by promoting a fun filled aviation atmosphere and through its judicial and monetary guidance to enhance the values of its A-Members’ properties. SAPA cannot be successful without serving the needs of all its members. That is Wesley’s focus on the Board.

Over the last year, Wesley has written a very comprehensive Quality Control Program for the maintenance of the fuel operations. Following that procedure, we were able to determine that the fuel tank needed internal cleaning, seam welding repairs, and re-epoxy coating. That work was completed this past  January. Wesley also cut and removed trees along the airport entry on Hollingsworth Rd, removed and disposed of around a hundred old tires, installed a new 15” storm pipe at the North tie down area and reworked the existing drainage ditch, and has two ongoing projects; construction of a restroom at the fuel service station, and is working with Pedernales Electric to get an overhead electric power line across the north taxiway moved underground.

Serving on the SAPA Board has not been a joy if one looks at the friends made through Board participation. That is not its purpose. The joy of serving on the Board is in accomplishing positive results through the service of our labors and by influencing changes that lead to a robust aviation community. The fulfillment from serving on the Board is better seen by looking out into our community and seeing new friendships being made, aviation stories
being told by the most experienced pilots, and new stories being created by new pilots and especially the young newcomers.

Wesley Perkins is a Lifetime Member of the Experimental Aircraft Association and of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. He is working towards an Instrument Rating under the teaching of Carol Foy and on his A&P Certificate under the tutelage of Bill Billingsly.

Please vote for Wesley Perkins to represent B-Members on the SAPA Board of Directors.

Patricia Gerino

I’ve been on the field since 2007 and have enjoyed Spicewood Airport. Although I am not a pilot, both my parents were, the bug to be a pilot did not bite me. I’ve been in aviation my entire life. I do have over 10k hours in the right seat since creating my aerial photography business in 1991.  I have been on the board for 2 years and would love to have your vote for another 2 years.

Rob Mazzetti

Flying is one of the great loves of my life. I serve as a board member of my local HOA. When not working my Hill Country Chipping business, I enjoy flight instruction out of 88R. It would be my pleasure to represent the Class B members and to work with the Spicewood Airport board
